Watch the time go by; There’s no point analysing the truth. Stuck in the game I don’t want to play; I lost myself Somewhere along the way. Running through the tunnel Towards the sense of light. Wanting to escape this maze To put the darkness out of sight. I can’t reach for your hand; It’s now cold and far away. Wishing for release; So I can see the light of day. Trying to smile, I long for you to care; How can you be happy? I wish that love was fair. The Beginning to an End The final heartbreak; The last drive home; The means to an end That I should have known. Watch the tears flow Down the side of my face; They represent confusion Of relief and sorrow. Never again Shall I open my heart, It’s bruised and damaged; But not torn apart. Savour the memories, Yet they are filled with pain; I never want to see you Or speak to you again. The final kiss Lingers in my mind; Those thoughts of bliss Seem like forever ago in time.
